2022 in Numbers

4th January 2023

Over the 2 distribution centres, in Alcester & Studley, in 2022 we fed 592 adults and 338 children. That’s over 8,000 meals we provided and that doesn’t include more than 200 special Christmas parcels or the 88 summer holiday packs. We’re set to exceed that in 2023, feeding over 170 people in January alone. (Compared to 155 people in the whole of 2013).

With demand on the increase, donations have slightly fallen short of goods going out for the past 2 years. In 2022 we weighed in 11,457 kilos of stock. We weighed out 11,542 kilos. That’s over 11 metric tonnes in each direction. With the ongoing cost of living crisis we are expecting the outgoing amount to increase. We’ll need the incoming amounts to keep pace.

Over 50% of our incoming stock comes from individuals either bringing a donation to the distribution centre or putting something in the collection baskets at Waitrose Alcester or the Co-op in Studley. The rest comes from companies, community groups, charities and schools.

We can’t do it without your help.

We’d like to extend a huge thank you to:

  • Corporate donors, Community Groups, Churches & Schools
  • Supermarkets hosting collection baskets
  • Individuals – from those donating large amounts on a regular basis to the person putting a tin of baked beans into the collection basket when they feel they can afford to
  • Organisations & individuals hosting our distribution centres and stores
  • And, of course, our wonderful Volunteers!
