Another successful food drive at Waitrose in Alcester

We held our second food drive of the year at Alcester Waitrose on 20 September. Our volunteers, led by Janet, greeted shoppers all day.

In total, 173kgs of food was donated, enabling us to provide over 220 additional meals, and we received £165 in cash donations. Many people worked together to make the day a success. Janet, one of our Alcester team leaders, organised the day; Faye, the store manager, welcomed us into her store; our volunteers who gave up their time to greet everyone in the store; our volunteers who transported the donations to our warehouse; our warehouse managers, Cathy and Bryn, who took delivery and sorted all the food; and to Helen, our marketing and communications manager, who ran a week long social media campaign beforehand. Most important of all though to the success of the day was everyone who kindly donated food.
