November saw Arden Foodbank volunteers involved in three community events in Studley.
Volunteers Bryn, Cathy, Hilary, Lynda, Mary and Helen donned their cycling gear and joined other members of the community to take part in Studley Rose Care Home’s 12 hour cycling challenge for BBC Children In Need. They each took their turn to complete Aden Foodbank’s allotted time from midday to 1pm.
When asked about the event, Helen said “We were delighted to be able to contribute to such a worthwhile cause. We had great fun and the whole event was a big success, raising a total of £420 for Children In Need. It was so nice to be able to support Studley Rose Care Home and give something back to the community that supports us in everything we do.”
Spotty Pots Studio and Cafe in Studley held a Paint and Prosecco evening on 15 November in aid of Arden Foodbank. They very generously donated £2.50 from every ticket sold and raised a total of £200. Volunteers Christine, Helen and Cathy went along to support the event and to say thank you not only for the donation, but also for the food that people brought along for the Foodbank. A great evening was had by all!
On 29 November, Christmas Comes to Studley annual event took place. This is a big community affair with a Christmas market, a Christmas Fayre, Christmas carols, a lantern parade and everything culminating in the switching on of the Studley Christmas lights. Team leader Hilary, with the help of Christine for the first hour, braved the winter weather to staff our stall, as we joined in with the village festivities.
