Arden Foodbank Manager retires

31st March 2025

On 28 March, we said goodbye to our much loved manager, Susan Kinnersley, who has been our leader since the Foodbank was set up 13 years ago. Over those years, Susan has seen many changes. From the early beginnings when a handful of volunteers served a small number of customers; through covid, when many more people needed our help, and new volunteers joined to stand in for those required to stay at home; to now, when last year, 60+ volunteers in a variety of different roles provided food parcels for almost 2000 local people in Alcester, Studley and our surrounding communities. One thing that hasn’t changed over all those years though is Susan’s unwavering dedication and passion for helping those in hardship.

Typical of the humble person she is, Susan did not want a lot of fuss. Instead we said goodbye to her with a tea and cakes get together, and presented her with a beautiful bouquet of flowers, a giant signed card and an engraved glass plaque that read …

With grateful thanks from all of us at Arden Foodbank to Susan Kinnersley for 13 years of outstanding leadership of the Foodbank, and for your unwavering dedication to helping local people in hardship.

We will miss Susan greatly, and thank her hugely for her kindness, compassion and her inspiration to us all. A truely remarkable lady, who will be greatly missed.
